Adventure StoryEntered Panama from Costa Rica, chose a quiet mountain crossing that was certainly off the beaten track..
You can turn right as you drive through Panama and that choice provides the beach and heat and humidity.
Alternatively, you can make a left turn and this choice provides mountains, cool rivers, scenic hills and a climate that leaves one positively lively!
Panama is certainly a gorgeous country, the big city is just that, a big city.
Unfortunately forced to stay for a week or so here but we did find a Nationa Park about 20kms out which gave views of the canal, dozens of birds, lush forest and free camping.
We waited for some parts to arrive for the truck and we arranged shipment for the trucks via container into Columbia.
We chose SeaBoard for shipping and this proved a wise decision, todays paperwork pushing and actual loading of container was as smooth a process as one could require.
We have now arranged for a sailship tour for a week to the San Blas islands and the conclusion of this will be in Columbia.
Then it's on, on into Venezuala, Equador, Galapagos islands, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Uraguay, Paraguay, Brazil.
the long trail beckons!
stay with me!
